Alternatives

XMReality costs less per seat than we do.

Their published price sits in the mid thirties per user per month. Ours is $99. Starting anywhere else on this page would be wasting your time, so here it is first.

They are also one of the few vendors in this category who publish a price at all, which is worth respecting. The question is not who is cheaper. It is whether you are buying a better conversation or a document somebody else has to accept.

What the difference buys

What each one leaves behind after the call

Both products put a specialist inside the technician's camera. What happens after the call is where they separate.

No step closes without a photo

A checklist step is not a tick box here. It will not complete until the required photograph exists, so incomplete evidence is structurally impossible rather than a training problem.

This is the part you are paying for.

Append-only audit trail

Every check, uncheck and step photo is recorded and rendered in the report. That is what makes a completed job non-repudiable rather than merely recorded.

Nothing in it can be quietly rewritten.

A report you can hand over

One revocable link shows the job, the evidence and the sign-off to a customer or contractor with no account. Chat, recordings and diagnostics are deliberately held back from it.

The artifact somebody else accepts.

The technician's own account of it

They can annotate a photo they sent and add a note. It uploads as a new file linked to the original rather than overwriting it, because the photograph is evidence and somebody's reading of it is not the same object.

Attribution cannot be claimed, only earned.

Compiled August 2026 from published vendor material and our own category research. "Not published" means we could not find it stated publicly, not that it is absent. XMReality pricing is from their published material and third party directories and may have moved. Corrections to support@proofwalk.io.

Before you go further

Two reasons to take the cheaper seat

Nobody is going to ask you to prove it

If the work is internal, the call ends and that is the end of it, then the evidence machinery is weight you are carrying for nothing. Pay less.

The hard part is showing a movement

Hands Overlay exists because describing a twist, a seating motion or an order of operations over voice is genuinely bad. A drawn arrow on a frozen frame does not replace it.

Run both on the same job

Thirty days, two seats, twenty-five sessions, no card. This is a comparison that settles itself the first time somebody asks you for proof of an install.

Questions

Common questions

XMReality is cheaper per seat. Why would we pay more?

Only if what you need is a record rather than a conversation. XMReality is guidance tooling and it is good at it. Proofwalk is built so that a finished job produces a document somebody else will accept as proof: a checklist where no step closes without a photo, an append-only trail of every check and uncheck, and a report you can hand to a customer through a link. If nobody is ever going to ask you to prove the work, you are paying for machinery you will not use, and the cheaper seat is the correct answer.

What is Hands Overlay and do you have anything like it?

It puts the expert's actual hands into the technician's view so you can show a movement rather than describe it. We do not have it. Our equivalent is freezing a frame, drawing on it, and pushing it full screen to the phone, which communicates a position well and a motion poorly.

Do either of you need an app on the technician's phone?

Browser based joining is normal across this category now, so treat it as a baseline rather than a differentiator. What differs is smart glasses support, which XMReality has and we do not.

Can it be used for supporting customers rather than technicians?

Yes. The session does not care who is holding the phone. On a support call the evidence machinery matters less, which is worth weighing against the price difference on this page.

What happens to our evidence if we leave?

It is yours. Reports stay readable through your notice period, and you get a copy of every session, photo and report before the account closes.
